Celebrating the Chinese New Year in Style – Lenovo Style!

What’s up everyone, hope you’re all doing great! Hime-senpai here with a slightly different kind of blog entry compared to what you’ve all been accustomed to.

Wait, a different type of content? Well, for one, this would be a Hime-senpai post that is neither TCG-related, nor is a review of a PS Vita game. For once, I’ll be doing event coverage, and what a way to start it off with the event showcasing the opening qualifiers for the 2017 LCL (League of Legends Collegiate League). Continue reading

Now, This is What You Call a SAO Game

It took three games, but they finally got it right the fourth time around, and right where it all began, to boot!

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization had its Philippine launch a little over a week ago, and the hype sure delivered. Not only did it come as a standard release for both Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita, the game was also made available in a Collector’s Edition. Continue reading

A Little of Everything (BWC 2016 Report)

Hey guys, Hime-senpai checking in. October 15 is the first day of Bushiroad World Championship Philippine Qualifiers, with the first day featuring Cardfight!! Vanguard, and the second day featuring Buddyfight and Weiss Schwarz.

Let me just say that it’s been a really really fun event and these major tourneys are events that players would regret to miss. There’s no entrance fee, and you get the best of the best players under one roof. It’s definitely an experience any TCG player should never ever want to miss in his “TCG career”. Even if you’re not fond of these large tourneys, you should try attending even once in your lifetime as a player. Until you’ve been in one of these, you haven’t seen it all. I entered the tournament with my Angel Feather deck, centered around Black Shiver Gavrail, her stride fusion, Black Seraph Gavrail, and the “Rescue” mechanic. Continue reading

Asterisk War: Phoenix Festa

Hime-senpai has arrived from the main animanga NOHK blog with my first video game post in this sub-blog.

I mentioned two things in my writer profile.

1.) My gaming platform of choice is the Playstation Vita.

2.) I am primarily an anime fan more than an actual gaming fan, hence my preference for the PSV and it’s huge library of JRPGs and tie-in games to niche anime.

Without further ado, let’s start off with a review of one such game that fits both criteria, one that’s recently released here in Asia – Asterisk War: Phoenix Festa, stylized as AW: Phoenix Festa in the actual cover for some reason. I guess game titles run on character limits. Continue reading

CFV and the Secondary Market

Hime-senpai checking in!

Today, we talk about a little something that some of you TCG players, particularly those playing Bushiroad games, would probably notice. It’s about the very volatile state of the secondary market in trading card communities, particularly in Bushi games.

Before we start, you may want to ask me to define what the “secondary market” is. To make it simple, we can define “secondary market” as the players who sell singles of the cards that they got from booster packs or boxes. If you have spent even a moderate amount of time in the community, chances are, you would have already become a member of the secondary market in one way or another. It’s basically the second source of cards for any player (first being the actual booster packs and boxes sold in retail, of course).

Now, what is the main point of this article?

CFV Release Weekend!

Hime-senpai here with my first “blog” post here as a member of the NOHK team.

As you may know by now after reading through my previous posts, Cardfight Vanguard is my main TCG and this weekend coincided with the release of Vanguard’s newest booster set, G-BT07, Glorious Bravery of Radiant Sword. It’s been months since I pre-ordered two boxes of the set with a friend who split the contents with me, and of course, what started as a disappointing trip to the card shop ended up as one of the luckiest days in my life as far as TCG boxes are concerned.

You see, I had pre-ordered the set months prior to release in hopes of adding more support to my current Angel Feather deck, and to have a chance at pulling the holy grail of SPs in the set. Continue reading
